Muku Café

My daughters ( 2&5) and I are always on the lookout for new and fun places. We finally had a chance to check out Muku Café yesterday and I could not believe we hadn’t been yet. First we parking in a large free parking lot right off 5. The café itself is about a 20 minute drive from the Fussa gate and located on 5. When we walked up I was a bit worried because it didn’t look kid friendly. Once we entered we noticed multiple wooden toys and books to play with. Its traditional Japanese seating and we did have to take our shoes off to sit. I also noticed that they had several kids sitting options which included chairs, bouncers and bassinets.

The menu is all in Japanese but I had no trouble translating it using google translate. All of the food was affordable. I ordered 3 meals at lunch and paid 2000 yen. We were all full and food was great! As we went to pay they also informed me that if I added them on the Line app I got 300 off.

We were very pleased with the food and service. Then as we went to leave they came out to tell us there was a play area upstairs. This area was not visible from the restaurant but was a nice place to let the kiddos play for a bit. They had all kinds of wooden toys, books and fun swings on the back patio. If you have kids and are looking for a nice place to have lunch or dinner I reco. -February 2020, Deena Brunson.

Peppermint Café – Kichijoji

If you love Thai food, Peppermint Café in Kichijoji is a great restaurant to check out.  It is the sister restaurant of Pepa Café which is just a short walk away. The atmosphere is great and the food was awesome too.  My friends and I stumbled upon the menu on the street on a girls night out .  We were seated at a cute table in the corner where we took off our shoes before sitting.  The dinner menu was very large so we decided to share and sample a variety of items.  The mojito’s were also very tasty!    I have since been back for lunch when we had family in town.  The menu is much smaller for lunch but includes a soup and salad set.  The area itself is also a great spot to check out for a date night or girls night out.  There are many shops and restaurants and it is a 35-45 minute train ride from Akishima station. – Angela Vaillant, November 2017
